Yamaha YZF R1 2002-2003

In 2002 Yamaha came up with a new injection system for the R1. With a similar power output of the models from 2000-2001, the engine is largely unchanged. One notable improvement was the use of new cylinder sleeves. Also in 2002, Yamaha released the newly developed Deltabox 3 frame. The cooling system and exhaust system was redesigned. The backside of the motorcycle was more streamlined and there was applied an LED tail light.
Characteristic of the type from 2002-2003 are the angular lines and angular ass.
