An all-new YZF-R1 for the 2007 model year was announced in October 2006. It had a completely new four-cylinder engine, to go back to four valves per cylinder, rather than Yamaha\'s trademark: five valves per cylinder. The 2007 model also had the Yamaha Chip Control Intake (YCC-I), Yamaha Chip Control Throttle (YCC-T) fly-by-wire throttle, slipper clutch, a completely new aluminum Deltabox frame and swingarm, six radial-mount calipers and a larger radiator. The power was 152.9 hp (114.0 kW). The testing of the 2007 model year YZF-R1 caused a measuring of 2.94 seconds from 0 to 97 km / hour.
